He
currently serves as the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to
the People's Republic of China since May 2022, and has nearly 24 years of
experience. Prior to that, he served as the General Coordinator for
Negotiations at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council and
Head of the Gulf Negotiating Team from September 2021 to March 2023. He also
served as Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade from 2019 to 2022, during
which time he was responsible for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's foreign trade
strategy and policy, all bilateral and multilateral trade relations, trade
agreements and commitments, market access, trade processes, and relevant regional and international
organizations and forums, such as the World Trade Organization, the G20 Trade
and Investment Forum, UNCTAD, COMCEC of the Organization of Islamic
Cooperation, the Greater Arab Free Trade Area of the League of Arab States,
trade issues in the GCC countries, free trade agreements, Saudi commercial
attachés abroad, joint business councils, etc. Prior to that, he served as
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment for Foreign Trade in
2016. He possesses diverse leadership experience in trade, investment, and
financial sectors,
having held numerous leadership positions in the private sector, most recently
as CEO of a regional financial company in the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia. He
currently serves on the board of directors of the King Abdulaziz Public Library
branch in Beijing and is chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi
Schools in Beijing. He has also served on several boards of directors for
various local and international government bodies and committees, including the
Saudi Export Development Authority, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority, and the Electricity and Cogeneration
Regulatory Authority (formerly). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Management Information Systems from King Fahd University of Petroleum and
Minerals and has completed numerous investment, leadership, and management
courses and certifications from international universities and institutes,
including Harvard and London Business School. He was awarded the King Abdulaziz
Medal of the First Order in 2021 and the Distinguished Diplomat Medal by the Chinese
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2026.
